When I got my iPod Touch there was a clear plastic piece that I could not figure out what it was for. The best way to describe it is that is looks like an elongated lower case g.

You use the piece to allow your iPod Touch to sit on a flat surface at about a 70 degree angle. The iPod Touch fits in the slot on the left. If it was mounted in clear plastic piece shown above, we would be seeing the back of the iPod Touch, it would be facing to the left.

This lets you watch movies hands free. Here are some pictures of it in use, you can click them for the full size picture:

The white piece is an insert for the Apple HiFi. You need it because the Touch is so much thinner than an iPod Classic.
